Now Macklemore is facing fresh criticism from an unexpected corner.
Pink reposted an Instagram Story from StopAntisemitism this weekend, amplifying the group’s sharp criticism of the performance. The organization called the situation “awful” and demanded that concertgoers receive refunds along with apologies.
Pink offered no written commentary alongside the repost, but the decision to share it to her millions of followers carried clear intent. The move has intensified pressure on Sheeran and tour organizers to remove the Seattle rapper from the remaining dates of the North American tour.
An Israeli-American advocacy group launched a petition specifically calling for Macklemore’s removal from future shows. The backlash has centered on the mixing of politics and concert entertainment, with critics arguing the moment was inappropriate for a large stadium event.
This isn’t Macklemore’s first time engaging with the Israel-Palestine conflict publicly. He released “Hind’s Hall” in 2024 as a protest track, signaling his commitment to the cause. Sheeran has remained silent on the controversy and has not addressed the petition or calls for Macklemore’s removal.
