The Biggest Boss spent the next few hours on Instagram cranking up the boss talk to levels most people reserve for fiction. Rick Ross plugged new music, declared himself bigger than Justin Bieber, and casually mentioned that he expects news helicopters will be circling his mansion once the weather clears. Translation: he’s anticipating O.J. Simpson-level media circus coverage.

The rapper was arrested Thursday morning on felony battery by strangulation and misdemeanor battery charges after an ex-girlfriend accused him of assault. She reported the incident to police on Tuesday; Ross turned himself in two days later.
His legal team requested expedited release during a court hearing, citing celebrity status and safety concerns in custody. The argument didn’t exactly land. Judge Mindy Glazer delivered a perfect deflation when she told Ross, “I have no idea who you are.”

Released anyway, Ross spent his first hours of freedom doing what he does best: reminding the world he’s still the boss. He told his team to have the studio ready because he felt like recording. The whole performance felt less like a man dealing with serious criminal charges and more like someone launching a comeback album rollout.
Whether the strategy of relentless confidence works as a legal defense remains to be seen. But one thing’s clear: Rozay isn’t backing down.
