The month of November is almost over, which means we officially missed the original premiere date for Marvel’s ‘Blade’ reboot. We were supposed to be seeing Mahershala Ali in the trench coat RIGHT NOW! Instead, the date was pulled, and Black Twitter is letting Marvel HAVE IT.

Blade, the samurai sword-wielding half-human half-vampire “daywalker” assassin, was one of the first Marvel comic book adaptations to grace the screen. Starring Wesley Snipes, this dark tale set a new precedent for superhero narratives, a legacy seen today in Black Panther, Luke Cage, and Black Lightning. Blade holds numerous firsts, including being the first Black movie superhero and featuring a website puzzle tie-in.

This week in 1987, Michael Jackson's "Bad" single dropped. The iconic 18-minute video, co-starring Wesley Snipes, was filmed at Brooklyn's Hoyt-Schermerhorn station. It depicts Jackson as Darryl, a prep school student pressured by friends to prove his toughness.
