Blade 20 Years Later: Still a Blerd Icon
Blade, the samurai sword-wielding half-human half-vampire “daywalker” assassin, was one of the first Marvel comic book adaptations to grace the screen. Starring Wesley Snipes, this dark tale set a new precedent for superhero narratives, a legacy seen today in Black Panther, Luke Cage, and Black Lightning. Blade holds numerous firsts, including being the first Black movie superhero and featuring a website puzzle tie-in.
