Mathew Knowles Questions Tina’s Role In Destiny’s Child — Interview Gets Awkward FAST

The Knowles family drama may be old, but the tension clearly is not.

Mathew Knowles is raising eyebrows after a recent interview moment that many viewers say came off as dismissive toward his ex-wife, Mathew Knowles Tina. The conversation took place during an appearance on PIX11 anchor Kendis Gibson’s show Kandid with Kendis, where Mathew was promoting his upcoming Destiny’s Child tribute concert.

When Gibson praised both Mathew and Tina for their work behind the scenes during the group’s rise, saying, “You’ve earned your flowers. I said the same thing to Ms. Tina Knowles. You guys put in the work,” Mathew’s response stunned viewers: “What work did she put in?”

THE MOMENT THAT STOPPED THE ROOM

Gibson quickly reminded him of Tina’s well-documented contributions, including styling the group’s hair, designing their costumes, and shaping their early image when major designers were not yet dressing them.

“Ok, you’re absolutely right, and the styling. The imaging. You’re right,” Mathew acknowledged after the reminder.

Gibson attempted to smooth things over by calling it a joint effort. But moments later, the interview abruptly ended.

“Did I say something wrong?” Gibson asked as Mathew stood up.
