Darius McCrary Arrested: Child Support Warrant & Border Stop

Our hearts go out to Darius McCrary, best known as Eddie Winslow from “Family Matters,” who’s facing some legal challenges. Word on the street is that he was recently apprehended near the U.S.–Mexico border in California. According to TMZ, he’s currently in a San Diego jail, held on a fugitive felony warrant.

U.S. Border Patrol made the arrest on Sunday, and online records indicate it’s being treated as a “fugitive arrest,” which means another state wants him for a pretty serious offense.

Ann Barlow, Darius McCrary’s representative, told TMZ that the warrant stems from Michigan, where he allegedly missed a court date related to an ongoing child support case.

This isn’t the first time that our brother has faced struggles with child support payments. He’s been arrested twice before β€” once in 2015 and again in 2023 β€” for the same reason.

His split from ex-wife Tammy Brawner, a former Harlem Globetrotter, was finalized back in 2019 after a two-year legal showdown. As part of their divorce settlement, Darius was ordered to pay $1,366 a month in support for their daughter.

While details are still unfolding, the “fugitive arrest” status suggests he’ll likely be heading back to Michigan to address the charges.

It’s definitely surprising for many fans who remember his squeaky-clean image on “Family Matters.”

So far, neither Darius nor his team have said much beyond confirming the Michigan warrant. We’re sending positive energy his way.
