Ice-T is back in the fold for “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.” After splitting time on season 27, the legendary rapper and actor is committing to a full schedule for season 28, appearing in every episode.
The commitment came up during a recent conversation with Towanda Robinson on “The BlkCosmo Podcast,” where Ice-T opened up about his character Detective Odafin “Fin” Tutuola. He’s been anchoring the SVU squad since the show’s second season back in 2000, making him one of the longest-tenured cast members.
The reduced schedule last year came down to logistics. Producers scaled back his appearances to free up budget for bringing Kelli Giddish back as Amanda Rollins. Ice-T didn’t mind the arrangement. He understood the business side of things, especially since everyone wanted to see Giddish return to the show. The lighter load also gave him room to pursue other opportunities and increase his income elsewhere.

Now that he’s back full-time, fans can expect to see him every week alongside Mariska Hargitay and the rest of the SVU team working through Manhattan’s toughest cases.
The full podcast episode also covered his wife Coco Austin’s social media presence and his latest project, OG Network. You can catch the entire conversation wherever you listen to podcasts.
