Kanye West is facing serious legal trouble after a man filed a lawsuit accusing the rapper of assault stemming from an alleged 2024 incident at the iconic Chateau Marmont.
According to documents obtained by TMZ, the unidentified plaintiff—listed as John Doe—claims Ye approached him while he was seated at a table and, without warning, punched him in the face. The man alleges the hit knocked him to the ground, causing him to hit his head and lose consciousness. Kanye West allegedly continued striking him while he was already unconscious.
Beyond the physical allegations, the plaintiff also accuses Ye of falsely claiming that he had engaged in inappropriate behavior toward a woman in Kanye’s party. According to the suit, those accusations were later repeated publicly, allegedly damaging the man’s reputation and exposing him to ridicule.
The lawsuit includes claims of battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress, with the plaintiff seeking unspecified damages.
