Leon Thomas on Billboard: Lollapalooza Performance

Billboard had their eyes on Leon Thomas at Lollapalooza, and for good reason. The R&B artist delivered one of the festival’s standout performances, celebrating his 33rd birthday right there on the main stage in front of thousands. It was the kind of full-circle moment that reminds us why we keep up with the artists who grow with us—especially when they remember where they came from.

Leon Thomas brought the energy with special guest BabyChiefDoIt for “Ghetto Love Story,” a Chicago collaboration that hit different in the city’s own backyard. He closed with his Grammy-winning track “Mutt” and even dusted off “Make It Shine” from his Victorious days, giving longtime fans a taste of nostalgia mixed with his evolved artistry. That’s the kind of setlist that shows an artist’s range and respect for their journey. For those of us who’ve been watching him transition from Nickelodeon to the R&B charts, it’s a beautiful reminder that our favorite artists are still making moves that matter, on stages that count.
