Sexyy Red and her family are now in the middle of a legal battle over a high-profile burglary at a rented Florida mansion. According to a lawsuit she filed against a security guard, roughly half a million dollars in designer handbags and jewelry vanished during what was supposed to be a secure event.
The incident happened in January 2025, when Sexyy Red hosted a birthday retreat for her mother at the property. The lawsuit, obtained by BlkCosmo, details how an unlocked door became the entry point for the heist.

Red had hired a security guard to manage the event, but on January 12, a masked individual slipped through an unsecured entrance. The haul included necklaces, charms, rings, bracelets, watches, and designer handbags totaling at least $500,000. Police investigation confirmed the door was left unlocked, and Red’s legal team points the finger at her security chief, Carl Thompson, who they say was the last person to leave before the theft occurred.
The lawsuit seeks over $500,000 in damages from Thompson and his team for the alleged negligence.
What complicates matters is that this isn’t a one-sided dispute. Thompson filed his own lawsuit back in August 2025, claiming Red owes him money for unpaid security services. He says he was hired in May 2023 at $180,000 per year and worked for her through December 2024. Thompson received $204,000 but claims he should have been paid $285,000 for the full period, so he sued for the $81,000 difference.

Red denies underpaying him and filed a countersuit, pinning responsibility for the burglary squarely on Thompson’s shoulders. The case remains ongoing, with both parties locked in legal combat over who’s at fault and who owes whom money.
