A Georgia man, a former state prison guard, was arrested after allegedly locking several social workers inside an office during a heated outburst over child support payments. This unsettling incident has led to serious charges.
According to Law & Crime, 25-year-old Quantraves Hall was taken into custody after the incident at the Georgia Department of Family and Child Services (DFCS) office on Cohen Walker Drive in Warner Robins. Reports indicate that Quantraves Hall became enraged about his child support case. Authorities say Hall allegedly “busted into the building and locked the front door,” preventing four employees from leaving, investigators stated. He reportedly shouted at staff, demanding answers about his child support payments, and even attempted to enter a restricted, employee-only area of the office before fleeing the scene.
Confession and Consequences
When police arrived at the DFCS office, Hall had already left. However, he later turned himself in at the police station and agreed to speak with investigators. Authorities said Hall admitted to locking the door and yelling at employees, but refused to give the name of his supervisor at the Georgia Department of Corrections.
Investigators confirmed that Hall was terminated from his position as a prison guard shortly after the incident. Losing your job over a heated moment certainly amplifies the weight of the situation.
Facing Serious Charges
Prosecutors charged Hall with four counts of false imprisonment and terroristic threats and acts, citing the emotional distress and potential danger posed to the social workers. These aren’t minor accusations; they reflect a serious breach of safety and a disregard for the well-being of others just trying to do their jobs.
Hall was booked into custody but has since posted bond. His court date is pending, and investigators continue to review witness statements and surveillance footage from the DFCS office. This story is a stark reminder of how quickly anger can lead to severe repercussions, especially when public safety and professional conduct are at stake.
