Sexyy Red Faces $5M Judgment in Legal Battle

Update: Sexyy Red‘s attorney Jason Lampert issued a statement to BlkCosmo saying, “The claims asserted in this case are baseless and completely without merit. Red categorically denies these allegations and looks forward to defending herself in court.”

St. Louis rapper Sexyy Red is facing a potential $5 million default judgment in a lawsuit filed by her child’s grandmother, Nicole Barnes, who alleges the artist encouraged her followers on social media to harass her at her home.

According to legal documents obtained by BlkCosmo, Barnes claims Sexyy shared her address and called on her millions of followers to “kick the door in” and conduct acts of violence at her residence.

Barnes says she was forced to flee her home due to the threats and fear for her safety stemming from Sexyy’s social media activity.

The lawsuit was initially filed in March 2025. Barnes says Sexyy failed to respond despite being served notice through newspaper publication after the artist allegedly avoided traditional service of process attempts.

Sexyy has two children with Barnes’ family: a 4-year-old son and a 2-year-old daughter.

With no response filed from Sexyy’s camp, Barnes is now seeking a default judgment in the amount of $5 million.

The court has not yet ruled on the motion.
