Spencer Pratt’s mayoral campaign is heating up after Drew Carey went public with some harsh criticism. The two have been going back and forth, and things just got messier.
On Monday, Pratt fired back on X after Carey—host of The Price Is Right—called out his political run and labeled him a “serial scammer.” Pratt didn’t hold back either, questioning why Spencer Pratt’s mayoral campaign critics keep coming for him. He even shared a screenshot of an alleged 2002 email and made a connection between Carey and Chelsea Handler, suggesting they were both tied to the Epstein files. The timing felt intentional, and people are definitely taking notice.
Carey had already sounded off days earlier on Threads, telling LA voters straight up: “Anyone who votes for, or endorses Spencer Pratt for Mayor of LA needs to get their head out of their a–.” He doubled down, saying Pratt was “some serial scammer without a soul or moral compass.” Those are fighting words in the political arena.
Pratt’s campaign kicked off in January after he and Heidi Montag lost their Pacific Palisades home in the 2025 wildfire. He’s been vocal about his frustrations with Mayor Karen Bass and has even filed lawsuits against the city and LADWP. He’s positioning himself as an independent voice—”just Spencer, husband to Heidi, father to Ryker and Gunner,” as he puts it. But his run hasn’t been without controversy.
The reality star faced serious backlash online after making what many called “insensitive” and “tone deaf” remarks about the homeless community. During an interview, when asked about his plans for LA’s over 40,000 unhoused residents, his response didn’t land well. People were quick to call out what they saw as a lack of compassion, and it raised real questions about how he’d handle one of the city’s most pressing issues.
As the drama unfolds, it’s clear that Pratt’s campaign will have plenty of obstacles to navigate—both in terms of policy and public perception. The personal feuds with figures like Carey are just the beginning.
