Tay Keith’s Estate Faces 6-Figure Credit Card Debt

Hip-hop producer Tay Keith‘s death didn’t make his bills disappear. His estate is now being hit with nearly $200,000 in claims from creditors.
According to court documents obtained by BlkCosmo, American Express National Bank filed two separate claims against the late producer’s estate this week. The claims total roughly $87,000—$60,000 on a Business Platinum account and another $27,000 on a standard Platinum card.

AmEx isn’t alone in pursuing payments. Bank of America filed a claim connected to Tay Keith‘s 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS, asserting the estate owes the financial institution approximately $115,000.
Combined, creditors are currently seeking more than $198,000 from his estate.
When Keith died in June, he left behind a substantial estate that included his music catalog and royalties, bank accounts, a Lamborghini, the Mercedes, real estate holdings, and various business interests.
The Nashville Medical Examiner determined Keith died from the combined toxic effects of ketamine and mitragynine, an active compound found in kratom—a Southeast Asian plant whose compounds interact with the brain’s opioid receptors.
These claims emerged following a probate notice inviting creditors to come forward with outstanding debts against the estate.
