Chris Brown scored a small legal win in his ongoing lawsuit with a former housekeeper who claims she was mauled by his dog. A judge ruled that the plaintiff won’t be allowed to bring up his 2009 domestic violence arrest involving Rihanna during the upcoming trial, according to court documents obtained by BlkCosmo.
The court sided with the singer’s request to exclude any evidence related to the infamous incident from being presented to the jury.

Maria Avila filed the lawsuit after claiming that in 2020, she was attacked by a large dog named Hades while taking out the trash at Brown’s Los Angeles home.
Brown has denied responsibility for her injuries. His legal team previously suggested that Avila may have provoked the animal.

Before trial, both sides were debating which evidence could be presented to jurors. Avila wanted to reference Chris Brown‘s 2009 domestic violence case with Rihanna, hoping it would establish a pattern of harmful behavior.
Brown’s attorneys countered that discussing past arrests would be prejudicial, unfairly coloring jurors’ perception of him. They maintained the Rihanna case was irrelevant to whether he was responsible for the dog attack.
The judge agreed with Brown’s position.
